About the event
Join us May 30, from 11am-3pm for a celebration of Walt Whitman's Birth. The farmhouse in present day Laurel Springs was once home to friend of famous poet George, Susan, and their son Harry Stafford. During his recovery after suffering a stroke, Whitman visited frequently with the family at this South Jersey home, and spent many hours at our local spring, writing selections of his published works: Leaves of Grass, and Specimen Days.
